Why it matters

Cooling that keeps pace with compute

As rack densities increase and AI workloads accelerate, data centre cooling systems are under growing pressure to respond quickly, intuitively and reliably at both rack and system level. Stable cooling performance under dynamic conditions is now a fundamental design requirement.

Grid capacity, water availability and ESG scrutiny are increasingly shaping what can be built. Cooling can account for 7–30% of a data centre’s total electricity consumption, and poor hydronic control (particularly low Delta-T) drives up chilled water flow, pump energy and chiller lift.

Pressure-independent flow control combined with fast, responsive actuation lets cooling systems operate closer to design intent under real conditions, preserving Delta-T and reducing avoidable energy and water demand.

Quick & Accurate

 SMART Energy actuators,

Speed

E-PICVs travel fully closed to fully open in as little as 12–18 seconds, up to 5× faster than comparable solutions. Faster stabilisation, tighter temperature control, rapid isolation.

Accuracy

Flow regulation is an inherent mechanical function of the valve: no flow sensors, no minimum inlet pipework lengths. Lower integration risk in compact plant rooms and OEM skids.

Resilience

Mechanical PICVs (DN15–DN50) need no external power. In an outage they keep regulating flow, maintaining hydronic balance and Delta-T protection.

Insight

BACnet/Modbus connectivity with energy monitoring, Delta-T and power management, with full BMS integration with position, flow and ΔP feedback.
